At Yarno, we’ve always believed that the best way to learn is to do. That’s why our microlearning campaigns are built around active recall - asking questions, giving timely explanations, and helping learners strengthen their understanding day by day.
But for some topics, diving straight into the quiz isn’t quite enough.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce our latest feature: flash facts - a lightweight way to provide learners with helpful context before they begin a campaign.
Why we built flash facts
While our core learning philosophy centres around question-based learning, we’ve heard from customers that they sometimes want a way to “set the scene” before the first question app

Whether it’s a quick explainer video, a summary of recent changes, or key info to build confidence, many learning teams were looking for a simple way to share just enough background before the quiz begins, without needing to send a separate email or create a whole LMS-style module.
Flash Facts were built to meet this need: lightweight, optional, and embedded seamlessly into the Yarno learning flow.
What are flash facts?
Flash facts are short, swipeable content cards that appear to learners right before a Yarno campaign starts. Each card can contain text, images or video, and learners swipe through them like flashcards. They’re designed to be:
- Informative: Reinforcing key messages or updates
- Multimedia-friendly: With images or short videos to bring concepts to life
- Quick: Just a few moments to orient learners before questions begin
After the Flash Facts are viewed, the campaign continues as normal - no interruptions, no extra modules, no fuss.
Keeping it lightweight - by design
Flash facts are intentionally not a replacement for traditional LMS content. They’re not designed for heavy modules or long lessons. We built them to be:
- Short and focused (think: flashcards, not lectures)
- Seamlessly embedded in the learner journey
- Easy to create and update
By keeping them lean, we ensure learners stay engaged, not overwhelmed.

Where can flash facts help?
Flash facts aren’t needed in every campaign - but when used well, they can elevate the learner experience. They’re perfect for:
- Giving learners helpful context before a quiz
- Sharing a short explainer video or infographic
- Highlighting recent updates or important changes
- Reinforcing key messages for better retention
They’re especially useful for campaigns that are:
- Launching new policies or products
- Following up after training or events
- Kicking off campaigns where background knowledge matters
See it in action
Flash facts are live now for Yarno customers. We can’t wait to see how they use flash facts to give their learners the context and confidence they need to succeed.
