What is the media library?

The media library is a content store that houses all the images and videos used within your Yarno account, across questions, flash facts and learning library articles.

This allows you to easily organise and re-use images you have used previously, as well as providing access to new functionality including bulk image upload and an easy import from the Pexels stock image service.

How do I upload a new image?

You can upload a new image from within the media library itself, or from the question, flash fact or learning library article where you want to add the image.

From the media library:

1. Navigate to the media library (Content > Media library)
2. Optional: navigate to the folder where you would like the image to be stored
3. In the top right, select “Import Media”
4. Select “Import image” in the centre of the modal, or drag and drop from your computer

From a question, flash fact or learning library article

1. Select the media icon (or for banner images, select “change”) to open the media library modal
2. Select “Upload image” in the top right

What is Pexels, and how can I import content from there?

Pexels is a stock photo service that provides millions of high quality images that can be downloaded and used for free. Yarno integrates with Pexels to enable customers to quickly and easily access photos that fit with the content you are building.

To import content from Pexels - from the media library:

1. Navigate to the media library (Content > Media library)
2. Optional: navigate to the folder where you would like the image to be stored
3. In the top right, select “Import Media”
4. Select “Import from Pexels” in the top right corner
5. Enter a search term
6. Select the image you would like to import

To import content from Pexels - from a question, flash fact or learning library article:

1. Select the media icon (or for banner images, select “change”) to open the media library modal
2. Select the “Pexels” option under the search bar
3. Enter a search term
4. Select the image you would like to import

How do I add a new video?

The media library saves the links to videos used in the platform, to make it easier to re-use the same videos again.

Yarno can display videos hosted on YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia.

You can add a new video link from within the media library itself, or from the question, flash fact or learning library article where you want to add the video.

From the media library:

1. Navigate to the media library (Content > Media library)
2. Optional: navigate to the folder where you would like the image to be stored
3. In the top right, select “Import Media”
4. In the top right, select “Import video”
5. Add the video link
6. Review the preview and click “Import video” in the top right

From a question, flash fact or learning library article

1. Select the media icon (or for banner images, select “change”) to open the media library modal

How do I change an existing banner image?

1. On the banner section at the top of the edit question section, select “change” to open the media library modal
2. Select the new banner you would like by searching the media library or Pexels, importing a video or uploading an image
3. If you would like to revert to the default banner, select “Use default” in the top right

How do I import images in bulk to the media library?

1. Navigate to the media library (Content > Media library)
2. Optional: navigate to the folder where you would like the images to be stored
3. In the top right, select “Import Media”
4. Drag and drop the images you would like to add from your computer

How do I organise my content within the media library?

You can organise content in the media library by updating names and details, and by sorting content into folders.

Folders can be created using the “New folder” button at the top right of the folders list at the top of the media library page.

To update names, details or move content into a folder:

1. Find the image or video you would like to update in the library
2. Click on the content to open the edit modal
3. The “Details” panel on the right displays the content’s current name, description and folder
4. Use the edit buttons to the right of each section to make any desired edits, making sure to save changes using the “Rename”, “Update” or “Move” button as relevant

What are flash facts?

Flash facts are short, optional content cards shown to learners before they begin a Yarno campaign. They’re a great way to share key context, background or essential info that helps learners succeed.

Flash facts appear once right at the start of the campaign, before the first question. Learners swipe through them like flashcards, taking in short snippets of information via text, images or video. After that, the campaign begins as usual.

Why use flash facts?

Flash facts are perfect for:

• Giving learners helpful context before a quiz
• Sharing a short explainer video
• Highlighting important updates or changes
• Reinforcing key messages before learning begins

They’re not essential for every campaign, but when used well, flash facts can boost clarity and confidence before the first question even appears.

How do I create a flash fact?

You can create flash facts directly in your board:

1. Click the Flash facts tab in the left-hand toolbar.
2. Add your content as text, image or video.
3. You can return at any time to update or adjust.

How do I add a flash fact to a campaign?

Once you’ve created your Flash facts, you’ll add them to the campaign during the campaign creation process:

1. Navigate to the ‘flash facts’ section of the campaign creation process
2. You’ll see a list of all available flash facts. Use the filter tool to quickly find the cards for a specific Board
3. Select the flash facts you’d like to add, and click ‘Save and next’
4. From the review screen you can reorder the cards - just drag to arrange them in the order you’d like them to appear to learners.

How do I check what flash facts are on a live or previous campaign?

Once the campaign is launched, you can see which flash facts were added by checking the new ‘flash facts’ tab from within the campaign dashboard:

How to remove learners from a campaign

You can add learners to a campaign either during campaign set up or once the campaign is live (admins can add additional learners or allow learners to sign up directly with a campaign URL link). But what if you want to remove a learner from a campaign?

While the campaign is live, admins can remove learners within the platform by following these steps:

1. Find the relevant campaign in the campaigns list, and click ‘Edit campaign’

2. Select ‘Learners’ in the top bar, which will take you to a list of the learners currently on the campaign
3. Search or filter to find the learners you want to remove, select them on the left and then click ‘Remove from campaign’ in the top right

4. Enter the reason for removal in the modal, and click the orange button to confirm

5. A green banner will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm the learners have been removed from the campaign

Who can remove learners from a campaign?

By default, only admins (or Yarno support) can remove learners from a campaign.

On some accounts, an additional feature is enabled that allows team or group managers to remove learners from campaigns directly. Enabling this can be a good option for large accounts where it is difficult for admins to manage all teams themselves. You can find instructions for managers on how to carry out this action here.

Where can I see which learners have been removed from a campaign?

Learners removed from the campaign are visible in the campaign learner drilldown. You can find more information on how to access this dashboard and other campaign reporting here.

Once you have navigated to the learner drilldown page, click the ‘Removed’ box at the top of the page to see a filtered list of removed learners. The list includes details about the learners’ removal from the campaign: when they were removed, which user removed them, and the reason for removal.

How to remove learners from a campaign with default settings

Depending on your account’s settings, you may or may not be able to remove learners from campaigns from within the Yarno app.

If your account is set to the default settings, then you cannot manually remove learners from campaigns from within the Yarno app. In this case, to remove a learner you will need to either:

• Speak with one of the Admins for Yarno within your organisation, or
• Contact Yarno Support by filling out this form or emailing us on support@yarno.com.au.

How to remove learners from a campaign with extended permissions enabled

On some accounts, an additional feature is enabled that allows team or group managers to remove learners from campaigns directly within the app. This can be helpful for large accounts where it is not practical for admins to be personally handling all learner removals.

If this feature is enabled on your account, then when at least one campaign is live for learners within your team you will see an option to ‘Remove from campaign’ appear in your team list on the manager dashboard.

1. Navigate to the manager dashboard for your team (for help with this step, see here)
2. Select the ‘‘Remove from campaign” option next to the learner you want to remove from a campaign/campaigns

3. A list will appear of all the learner’s currently active campaigns. Select the campaign/s you want to remove the learner from, and enter a reason for removal.

4. Click ‘Remove from campaign’ to confirm removal. A green banner will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm.

Where can I see which learners have been removed from a campaign?

Learners removed from the campaign are visible on the campaign learner drilldown. You can find more information on how to access this report, and other campaign reports, here.

What are Boards?

Boards are a flexible tool for planning and writing Yarno content. They can be used to write a single campaign, multiple campaigns, store all your questions on a particular topic - or however you would like to organise your questions.

Within a board, you can set up different columns to organise your content, quickly add questions as ‘cards’ on the board, and move these cards around to help with planning and organisation.

Boards have a number of handy features to help with efficient content creation, including:

• Flexible column structure and movable cards
• Guided prompts to define your campaign goals and confidence survey
• Yarno AI (a generative AI tool to assist with question writing)
• Help section full of resources to get the most out of the platform.

How do I create a Board?

1. Sign into Yarno, and navigate to the admin portal
2. Click ‘Content’ in the top nav bar

How to change the email address associated with a Yarno profile

Your email address is what Yarno uses to associate your profile with you.  

The email address associated with your profile is set up by your Yarno Administrator (that is, the person within your company who administers Yarno).

Everyone who is part of Yarno (including Learners, Managers and Administrators) has a unique Yarno profile associated with their email address.

In the event you need to change or update your email address, you can do so by updating the email address in your PROFILE.

• Go to learn.yarno.com.au and sign in (Here's more information about how to sign in to Yarno)
• Click the "hamburger" icon on the top right of the page.

• Click on Profile

• Click on Update Profile at the bottom of the page and your changes will be made. Going forward, the updated email address will become the new address associated with your Profile.

What are primer questions?

Primers are a set of benchmark questions that are used to measure learner performance before and after a campaign.

They are designed to provide useful data that gives a clear picture of how a campaign has helped Learners improve their knowledge, skills and understanding.

When do primer questions appear?

Primers are used for most embed campaigns, and get delivered to the Learner on Yarno, just like regular campaign questions.

As a Learner, you'll receive primers before the campaign kicks off, and for a second time once the campaign has ended.

What makes primer questions unique?

Unlike regular campaign questions, primers are designed as a temperature check rather than a training tool. For this reason, primers don't display the correct answer or any explanation — but the knowledge quizzed in the primers will relate to topics covered within the campaign.

Instead, the result goes into Yarno and contributes to a primer question performance score that admins can access in order to see how learner performance has improved as a result of the campaign.

The learning science behind Yarno

Yarno might seem pretty simple and straightforward, but it's actually based on some complex learning science that helps make key concepts stick.

The principles are:

• Spaced repetition - On a Yarno embed campaign, Learners will see questions more than once, spaced out over a few days. This spaced repetition helps solidify neural pathways and fight against the forgetting curve, meaning Learners will remember more. Find out more about how this works.
• Immediate feedback - After answering a Yarno question, Learners will immediately see the correct answer and be given an explanation to read outlining key takeaways. If the Learner got the answer right, this feedback helps reinforce and embed knowledge and encourage further learning. If the Learner got the answer wrong, this feedback addresses misconceptions and stops bad habits from forming. Read more about it here.
• Gamification - Yarno uses game features like leaderboards, badges and animations to make learning fun and engaging. When Learners are more engaged in training, it results in greater completion rates and higher motivation. For more on gamification, head to our blog.

Why do questions repeat, even when I got them right?

On a Yarno embed campaign, all questions will repeat a few days after you've first answered them. This is all about creating that spaced repetition effect and embedding knowledge. Incorrectly answered questions will repeat sooner, whereas correctly answered questions might not repeat for a few days.

So why do correctly answered questions repeat at all? After all, the learner has shown they already know the answer. Well, there are a few reasons why correctly answered questions repeat:

• In case the correct answer was a lucky guess and doesn't actually reflect the Learner's knowledge
• Because even if you get something right once, you can still forget it
• Because this reflects the reality of the workplace, where you'll need to draw on your knowledge more than just once

How can I answer questions without doing a training module first?

Part of the beauty of Yarno is that it can be used to introduce new concepts without the need for a dedicated training session or module. Instead, the learner is exposed to the new concept via the quiz format. This quiz-based microlearning format has been shown to be an effective and efficient way of sharing information.

Having trouble adjusting to the microlearning quiz format? Here are some tips:

• Remember: a Yarno quiz is NOT an exam — it's a training tool
• Approach questions with an open mind and assume positive intent — we want to help you learn, not trick you
• Don't worry about comparing yourself to other learners — while competition is motivating for some, for others it can have the reverse effect

Why a blank screen may appear in Yarno

A blank screen may appear in Yarno due to:

• Slow connection - it's possible that the page timed out when it was loading. This can be due to a slow or dropped internet connection.
• JavaScript turned off - It's also possible that JavaScript is turned off in the browser. The Yarno website requires JavaScript to be turned on to display correctly.

How to resolve this issue

To resolve this issue, try the following:

• Refresh the webpage
• Log into Yarno with a new tab
• Log into Yarno using a new browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome, Explorer etc)
• Tip: Avoid using incognito or private browsing mode

If the issue is still occuring:

• Check if JavaScript is turned on or off

Via iPhone:

1. Go to Settings
2. Scroll down and tap Safari
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap Advanced
4. If JavaScript is turned off, the colour in the toggle will be white. If it's on the colour will be green.

Via Android:

1. Open a browser window
2. Tap on the menu icon, and select Settings
3. Under Settings, locate Advanced and select Sites and downloads
4. Locate Allow JavaScript and ensure the switch is toggled on (the colour will be blue).

Via Google Chrome:

1. Open Chrome on your computer
2. Click the 3 dots on the top-right hand side of the window. Choose Settings
3. Click Security and Privacy
4. Click Site settings
5. Scroll down and look for JavaScript
6. Select Sites can use Javascript.

Via Safari:

1. Make sure you have a Safari window open and active; you will see the "Safari" menu in the top left of your screen. Click it
2. Go to preferences
3. Click on the Security icon (lock icon)
4. Make sure that the Enable JavaScript is enabled by ticking the box.

How to provide Yarno question feedback

Capturing question feedback from Learners helps to maintain the accuracy, relevancy and overall quality of questions within Yarno. Doing so leads to a better learning experience, which in turn produces better learning outcomes.

Learners can voice their thoughts on a specific Yarno question by selecting the 'GIVE FEEDBACK' button in the Yarno platform.

Here's how:

• Hover your mouse on the top right hand question mark symbol on the menu bar. This will show a drop down menu which you can then press 'Give Feedback'.

• Enter your feedback in the popup window. Click the orange 'Submit Feedback' button when you're done.

What happens to question feedback?

Question feedback is sent to the Yarno support team, who will forward it to a relevant admin from your company.

We really appreciate feedback, good or bad — it helps us to know what is or isn't working and how we can continue to improve our product and our content.

Yarno in a nutshell

Yarno is a gamified microlearning platform that transforms training into small, quiz-based bites.

Simply put, it's a daily quiz that introduces and reinforces key concepts for your workplace. The aim of Yarno is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding you need to keep growing and improving at work.

On Yarno, there are two different types of learning campaigns: embed campaigns and burst campaigns.

• On an embed, questions are spread out over a number of days — you'll answer a few every day, which will repeat a few days later to help you retain the knowledge.
• On a burst, you'll get all your questions in one go, and you'll get a few days to answer them all. There won't be any repeats.

The Yarno learner experience

So what does the Yarno journey look like?

• When there's a campaign coming up, you'll receive an email inviting you to join, or a link to join will be shared with you.

The next steps will depend on whether it's an embed or a burst:

Embed campaign

• You'll be invited to answer Primer questions before the campaign starts. Click here to find out more about Primers.
• Once the campaign starts, you'll receive a handy reminder email every day which will link you to that day's questions. You can also go straight to the questions via Yarno.
• When it's time to answer a question, you'll be shown three to four possible answer choices — choose the most correct answer. If you're incorrect, you'll need to read through the explanation before moving on to the next question. If you're correct, you'll have the choice whether to read the explanation or skip straight ahead.
• Once the campaign's over, you won't be able to answer any more questions — but you'll still be able to access previously answered questions and the dashboard.
• You'll receive an email asking you to answer Primer questions for a second time, and also asking for any feedback on the campaign.

Burst campaign

• Once the campaign starts, you can jump straight into your questions. You'll receive an email letting you know when you can start answering.
• You can answer your questions at any time while the campaign is active, you don't need to answer them all in one go — you can close the app whenever you are done, and when you next sign in your remaining questions will be there waiting for you. Just don't forget to come back before the campaign finishes!
• Once the campaign's over, you won't be able to answer any more questions — but you'll still be able to access previously answered questions and the dashboard.

How to embed a video in a question

To embed a video in a question:

1. Click 'Edit Question'.
2. Underneath 'Question Media', click Add Video.
3. Copy the video URL (from Youtube, Vimeo or Wistia) into the field.
4. Choose either the default thumbnail, or upload a new image as a custom thumbnail.
5. Click 'Update Question' to save changes.

How to embed a video in an explanation

To embed a video in an explanation:

1. Click 'Edit Question' and go to the 'Explanation' tab.
2. With the text cursor at the relevant section of the explanation, click on the camera button ('Add Video') in the toolbar.

3. Copy the video URL (from Youtube, Vimeo or Wistia) into the field in the pop-up window

4. Click 'Add Video' to add the video into the explanation.

5. Click 'Update Question' to save changes.

Why Yarno rejects certain passwords

At Yarno, keeping your account safe and secure is our priority - which is why we enforce best practice standards for you to follow when setting a password.

This happens in scenarios such as:

• Resetting your password to one that has been previously used
• Not meeting password length requirements

Requirements to setting a safe & secure password

Here are some requirements to keep in mind when setting up your password:

• Length - the minimum length of passwords should be 8 characters. Using more characters increases the password security. Aim to use a mixture of letters, numbers and characters in uppercase and lowercase.
• Password dictionary - Yarno does not allow passwords that are part of the Password Dictionary, an online list of the 10,000 most common passwords. Click here to see the list.
• Personal data - You will not be allowed to set a password which contains part of your personal data. For example, you will not be able to set a password which contains your first name, username, part of your email address and so on.

What makes a good password?

The best passwords are ones that are hard to guess, yet easy to remember.  A weird password like, ‘2bvmAt=NxQxbV>J}g’ is harder to remember than a password like ‘moccasin-22-gondola-tilde-twist’.

Why? The most important aspect of a password is its length, not the weirdness of its characters.

Why does Yarno send daily notification emails?

Yarno Learners who are part of active learning campaigns will receive daily email notifications from Yarno prompting them to complete questions.

Yarno works by offering daily learning via daily quizzes. To remind Learners to complete their daily quiz, Yarno will send a daily notification email.

Providing learning in bite sized chunks ensures there's spaced repetition and gives a better return on learning effort. This article explains how this concept works in more detail.

Below is an example of what a daily notification email could look like:

How to snooze the daily notification email from Yarno

There may be instances where Learners would prefer not to receive daily notification emails from Yarno - for example; if they're on leave from work.

By snoozing the daily notification emails:

• It will only pause the daily reminder emails. They will still receive emails to notify them of current campaigns about to end, and emails when they are invited to a new campaign.
• They will still remain part of the learning campaign. To be retired from a campaign, click here.

To temporarily pause the daily email notifications whilst on an active learning campaign:

• Go to learn.yarno.com.au.
• Enter your email address and password. Click on Continue.
• Navigate to the hamburger menu in the top right hand corner of the screen.

• Choose Profile.

• Then untick the checkbox next to Enable daily notifications.

• Finally, enter your current password in the box that says current password and click the Update profile button.

How to re-enable the daily notification email from Yarno

Learners can resume receiving daily email notifications from Yarno prompting them to complete the daily quiz during an active campaign.

To do so, follow the same steps as above for 'Snoozing' the notifications email, but instead tick the checkbox on "Enable daily notifications" in step 3.

What is the Dashboard in Yarno?

The Dashboard gives insights into learning campaigns you are participating in (or have completed), and shows data around performance.

The Dashboard (also referred to as the Learner Dashboard) shows data on your own performance in Yarno campaigns. Depending on the role you have been assigned with Yarno, you may have access to additional dashboards displaying other data (see the last section of this article for more info).

Overall, the Dashboard is designed to provide performance statistics and data insights in an easy and accessible way.

What does the Dashboard show?

The Dashboard displays data for one campaign at a time. When you first access the Dashboard, it will show the current or most recent campaign you have participated in.

The information included in the Dashboard will change depending on the type of campaign, but can include:

• Badges: When you get 5 questions in a row correct, the 5Q streak badge is attained. Other badges include 10Q streak, 20Q streak, 30Q streak, and Rocketeer (awarded when the campaign duration and your performance both reach 80%).
• Score: The score uses performance and participation to provide a metric for overall performance in a Yarno campaign. For more info about Scores, see here.
• Rank: The rank will display your position in comparison to other learners on the campaign. It is determined by your score.
• Team Leaderboards: (more information on the Leaderboards and how they work can be found here).
• Longest streak: You can see the longest run of consecutive correct answers you have achieved.
• Performance over time: A graph that charts your daily performance over the course of the campaign.
• Answer accuracy: These charts represent the accuracy of your first and second attempts at the questions you have answered.
• Primer question performance: You can see how you fared in the pre-campaign primers vs the post-campaign primers.
• Performance by topic: This illustrates how you performed across each topic.

To see information for past Campaigns, click on the drop down icon (as seen in the image below) next to the campaign title, and select the title of the Campaign you want to look at.

How to access the Dashboard

Follow the steps outlined below to access the Yarno Dashboard:

• Sign in to Yarno (Click here for help signing in).
• Click on the hamburger icon at the top right hand corner of the screen (the three horizontal lines).

• From there, select Dashboard (second option from the top). Alternatively, you can also select View Previous Results.

• Now you have access to information such as campaign progress, performance metrics, and answer accuracy. If you scroll down you will also see the Leaderboards.

When are scores relevant in Yarno?

Yarno uses scores to create Leaderboards in Yarno, both for Learners and Teams. You'll see those Leaderboards both on your own dashboard and in the Team or Group Campaign dashboards.

Scores in Yarno combine Learner performance and participation. To find out more, check out this article on Leaderboards and scoring.

Understanding Team scores

As a Team or Group Manager, you may be particularly interested in the Team Leaderboard.

This Leaderboard uses average scores for Learners in each Team to rank the highest performing teams on a Campaign. This encourages all Team members to participate, as even with a couple of high performing Learners, teams that have large numbers of non-participating Learners will tend to have a lower score.

Who are Learners

Learners are any individuals with a Yarno account who can participate in Yarno Campaigns or access the Learning Library.

When Managers might need to add or retire a Learner?

As a Team or Group Manager, there are a number of situations where you might want someone to be added or removed from Yarno:

• A new starter has joined your Team/Group
• A Learner who was in your Team has transferred to another Team
• A Learner will be on holiday or extended leave for upcoming Yarno Campaigns
• A Learner previously retired due to holiday/leave has returned to work

What to do to add/retire Learners

As a Manager, you cannot manually add or retire a Learner from within the Yarno app.

You will need to either:

• Speak with one of the Admins for Yarno within your organisation (they will be able to follow the steps here to add or retire the Learner), or
• Contact Yarno Support by filling out this form, emailing us on support@yarno.com.au or giving us a call on 1300 79 75 46.

To action your request quickly, please provide the following details:

To add a Learner:

• Name and email address of the new Learner, and any other relevant details for your Account (such as Employee ID)
• Which Team (and Group if relevant) the Learner should be added to
• Whether the Learner should be added to any current or upcoming Campaigns

To retire a Learner:

• Name and email address of the Learner
• Whether the Learner should be removed from Yarno, or just removed from a current Campaign or the relevant Team/Group

Can retired Learners be re-added to Yarno?

Yes, retired Learners can have their account re-activated. This is particularly relevant when a Learner may be going on extended leave from work – it may make sense to temporarily retire that Learner so that they are not added to upcoming Campaigns, and then re-activate their account once they return to work.

What is Single Sign On (SSO)?

SSO is a system that allows a user to sign into multiple unrelated services using a single set of credentials. A common example of SSO is using “Sign in with Google” to access non-Google applications.

Enabling SSO is an optional feature for Yarno accounts, which allows customers to connect Yarno to their own Enterprise SSO system (which may in turn be managed by a third party provider).

Why use SSO?

• Allows easier Learner reconciliation – Learners using SSO have an identifier that can be reconciled with other customer systems, whereas manual login relies on the Learner providing the correct ID or using the same email address as on company records
• Improves security by allowing centralised control of access to applications - by removing employees from the internal SSO system they lose access to all external applications using SSO without requiring an additional step.
• Better employee experience – fewer login details to remember to sign into company applications.

How is SSO enabled for Yarno accounts?

Speak to your Yarno CSM if you’re interested in enabling SSO on your account – typically the set up process for this will require communication between your IT team and the Yarno development team to set up the connection.

SSO FAQs

Can some Learners use SSO and others sign up manually?

No, Yarno requires SSO to be enabled on a whole-account basis, so once SSO is enabled only learners with relevant SSO credentials will be able to access your Yarno account.

What SSO systems can Yarno integrate with?

Yarno has experience integrating with SAML. If you use a different SSO system, get in touch and we can investigate.

How do learners reset their Yarno passwords once SSO is enabled?

Once SSO is enabled, their credentials are handled by your SSO system, and any password resets would be handled on your side rather than by Yarno.

How is a learner removed from Yarno once SSO is enabled?

Once a Learner has their SSO credentials removed on the customer’s internal system, that learner will no longer be able to login to Yarno. The Learner’s Yarno account will not be automatically deleted - admins can choose to remove learners manually through Yarno if desired to keep the learner list in Yarno up-to-date.

How to reset your Yarno password

To reset your password, you can request a password reset link.

• Enter the email address associated with your Yarno account
• Click on the Forgot Password link
• Press Continue

• Check the email account associated with the email address in Step 1 for password reset link email
• Click the Reset Your Password button and follow the prompts
• Enter the new password (tip: consider saving it in a secure password manager for easy access)

Following these steps, you should be able to enter in your new password and log in successfully to Yarno.

If you don't receive a password reset link email?

Here are some reasons why you may not be receiving the reset password email containing the reset link:

• The reset link email is going to your spam/junk folder: The sender of the reset email is Yarno Notifications (notifications@yarno.com.au). Search all folders in your email all folders including; spam/junk folder, promotions etc. You can also check with your company's I.T department.
• There's a spelling/grammar error in your email address: Check you've entered your email address correctly - avoiding common mistakes like checking if there is a '.com.au' at the end of your email, any extra or missed punctuation (e.g a full stop in between your first and last name), or extra spaces within your email address.
• You're sending the reset password link email to an account not associated with Yarno: For security reasons, Yarno will only ever send password reset emails to email addresses that have been registered with Yarno. Check with the person/team in your company who has set up Yarno for you (i.e. your Yarno Administrator) to find out what email address they've associated with your profile
• Your profile has been retired from Yarno: For various reasons outlined in this article, you may have been retired from the Yarno platform. To get your profile reinstated back onto Yarno, check out this article.

How to update your password

• Go to learn.yarno.com.au and sign in (Here's more information about how to sign in to Yarno).
• Click the "hamburger" icon on the top right of the page.

• Enter your current password, and the new password you would like to set, then enter the new password again to confirm

• Click on Update Profile at the bottom of the page and your changes will be made.

How a learner's score is calculated

A learner's score is based on two key factors: correct answers and regular participation.

Correct answers:

• If the learner answers the question correctly on the first try, then they receive maximum points for that question. Yarno will then repeat the same question to the learner in a few days, but will reward fewer points to them if they get it right on the second try.
• Like the image below illustrates, the more tries the learner has, the fewer points are made available to them for a correct answer.

Regular participation:

• Whilst not as significant as answering correctly, Yarno also rewards learners who answer promptly and regularly. This is designed to encourage and incentivise regular participation, which increases the accuracy of our metrics.

How to get a high score

There are a few tips a learner can bear in mind to ensure they get the highest score possible — and it doesn't involve being a genius!

Some strategies Learners can use to increase their scores:

• Answer questions regularly: This is an important one as Yarno will reward learners who answer questions regularly and promptly.
• Relax and take a deep breath: Don't rush it. If learners are stuck on a question, that's perfectly fine. Forget about the score and focus on the information in the question. Which answer seems the most rational? Do any of the answers sound familiar? And more often than not, go with your gut.
• Use external resources: Stuck on a question and need a hand? Learners are encouraged to use the resources they have available to them. Whether it's the internet, colleagues or company reference materials, pursuing help from outside sources will not be used against a learner in their scoring.

What is a Manager at Yarno?

Yarno has roles for Team Managers and Group Managers, in addition to the overall Administrator role.

What are Webhooks?

Webhooks are automated messages sent when a specific event occurs, that contain defined data. These can be received by other programs and used to track data or trigger other actions.

• Learner completed Campaign

Why use Webhooks?

Webhooks allow you to integrate point-in-time Yarno data into other programs or systems.

Speak to your Yarno CSM if you’re interested in enabling Webhooks on your account – they will be able to provide more technical details.

Does Yarno have a public API?

Yarno does not currently have a public API, so a Webhooks integration is the simplest way to access automated data transfers between Yarno and customer systems. If you have any questions about integrations with Yarno, please speak with your CSM who will be happy to provide further information.

General terms we use at Yarno explained

Active recall

The process that requires your brain to summon information. Having to recall what you know rather than simply reviewing it strengthens memory, increasing the chances you’ll remember it again. And when you’re unable to answer a question, you know you need to revisit the material or relearn it.

Additional resources

Materials attached to Yarno questions that further extend the learning moment. Additional resources should reference the topics addressed in the given question and can include videos, articles, podcasts, documents.

Admin

Admins have the "keys to the kingdom". Admins are able to set up Learners, questions and campaigns in Yarno, as well as promote other Learners to Manager or Admin roles. Admins also have access to additional account wide dashboards for further insights across all teams and campaigns in that particular account.

Behaviour change

An observable movement in Learners' patterns of behaviour. In the context of Yarno, desired behaviour change will align with campaign objectives.

Benchmarking

The comparison of two sets of results, against a standard. Yarno uses Primer questions to benchmark knowledge increase over the course of a campaign.

Burst campaign

Short series of specific, targeted Yarno questions delivered to Learners all at once. Read more here.

Campaign

Yarno learning is structured by campaigns, which are collections of questions. Campaigns run over a particular timeframe delivering questions on a particular topic/s. There are two types of Yarno campaigns: burst and embed.

Cognitive effort

Yarno's spaced repetition of questions requires mental retrieval of knowledge from the brain. This process requires cognitive effort, which is more difficult for the brain to perform.

Completion

The percentage of campaign questions answered.

Cooldown

The cooldown period occurs after all questions in an embed campaign have been delivered. This period is generally 2-7 days and allows Learners to re-answer their Primer questions and answer any questions they may have missed over the course of a campaign.

Critical decision making

Critical decision making requires Learners to use critical thinking to summon an answer to a problem or question.

Dashboard

Yarno dashboards present insights into results of Yarno campaigns. There are a number of dashboards, which segment data for relevant user types: Learners, Managers and Admins.

Embed campaign

Embed campaigns deliver a handful of questions to Learners each day over multiple weeks. This employs a concept called microlearning, using spaced repetition to improve knowledge and increase memory and retention. Read more here.

Engagement

Engagement with Yarno can be measured in a number of ways: number of Learners signed up to a campaign, question completion for a particular campaign across all Learners, and participation.

Explanation

Explains the reasoning behind a Yarno question. Explanations are delivered immediately after a Learner submits their answer.

Expiry date

An expiry date on a question allows you to set a date that the question "expires". Account Admins will receive an email at this time encouraging them to review the question.

Feedback

Yarno encourages any sort of commentary, objections or suggestions from our Learners. There are three main types of feedback in the Yarno platform: campaign feedback, platform feedback and question specific feedback.

Gamification

Applying mechanics, tools and techniques used in game design (think scenarios, challenges, badges, scoring and rewards) throughout the learning process. This mode of training has the ability to improve the speed, retention, engagement, and quality of the Learner's experience.

Knowledge gaps

Areas of weakness in Learners' knowledge. Yarno dashboard insights will indicate if there are particular topics, Learners or questions that indicate knowledge gaps within an organisation.

Leaderboard

Leaderboards rank Learner and Team scores to encourage competition in campaigns. These are optional, and score Learners based on a combination of engagement and performance.

Learning Library

A place to store learning material that can be accessed by Learners at any time. The Learning Library is article-based and can be structured to complement campaigns, or exist entirely separately.

Learners

The users of the Yarno platform who answer quiz questions.

LMS

A learning management system (LMS) is a digital learning environment that manages a company's training efforts.

Manager

Yarno Managers have access to dashboards with data relating to their Team or Group. Manager access is tied to Teams (and Groups of Teams).

Microlearning

Delivers learning in small doses over time.

Neural pathways

Comprised of neurons connected by dendrites, are created in the brain based on our habits and behaviours.

Participation

The percentage of Learners that sign in to Yarno at least once in a 7 day period.

Performance

The percentage of campaign questions answered correctly.

Performance improvement

The percentage increase for a Learner when they answer a campaign question for a second time, compared with the first time.

Primer questions

A short set of questions delivered to a Learner before and after an embed campaign. These should be a distillation of the content of the campaign, and serve as a pulse check on Learners' knowledge before and after the campaign. Read more here.

QR code

A machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares, typically used for storing URLs or other information for reading by the camera on a smartphone.

Sign up report

A report that tracks which Learners have signed up to Yarno and engaged with the campaign (whether or not they have answered Primer questions). These can be generated during the campaign warmup week.

Spaced repetition

Spaced repetition is the practice of regularly returning to previously learnt concepts. This creates new learning pathways and strengthens long-term memory.

Start date

The day after a warmup period where an embed campaign will begin generating daily questions.

Team

A group of Learners.

Topic

Questions in Yarno are able to be tagged by Question Topic so that Admins can gain insights into groupings of questions, beyond individual questions. Read more here.

Warmup

The days prior to a campaign commencing daily question generation. This period can be up to 5 days and allows Learners to sign up and answer their Primer questions. It is important to have as many Learners as possible sign up during this period to avoid missing any daily questions!

Learners

The users of the Yarno platform who answer quiz questions

Campaign

A campaign is a collection of questions served to a Learner.

• Embed: A campaign designed to embed knowledge over a period of time, usually 3 - 6 weeks. This type of campaign utilises microlearning and spaced repetition.
• Burst: A campaign designed to communicate or test knowledge fast, delivering all questions in one go. Typically 5 - 10 questions completed in a few minutes.

Campaign Questions

Questions served during the active period of a campaign.

Primer Questions

Benchmark questions served to the Learner before and after campaign questions.

'Primers' measure a Learner's improvement on a question and/or topic/s. (Only applies to an embed campaign).

Completion

The % of campaign questions answered.

Participation

The % of Learners that login to Yarno at least once in a 7 day period.

Performance

The % of campaign questions answered correctly.

Score

Individuals can accumulate points in two ways; by regularly participating throughout a campaign and by answering questions correctly.

Average Score

The average score of all Learners who are in a common Team.

Performance Increase On Second Try

The % increase for a Learner when they answer a campaign question for a second time, compared to the first. (Only applies to an embed campaign).

Primer Increase

The % increase from pre-primer to post-primer questions.

Topic

Question Topics enable more specific insights on a Topic's performance within a campaign.

Yarno NPS (Net Promoter Score)

0-10 scale score in response to: How likely is it that you would recommend Yarno to a friend or colleague? Promoters (9-10), Passives (7-8), Detractors (0-6). Promoters (%) minus Detractors (%) yields the NPS.

Overall Performance

The count of all standard (non-primer) questions that have been answered correctly, divided by the amount of standard (non-primer) questions that have been answered.

Performance Over Time

Performance for each day is the number of questions answered correctly by unretired Learners, divided by total number of questions answered by unretired Learners.

Average Completion

The count of all standard (non-primer) questions that have been answered, divided by the count of all standard (non-primer) questions in a campaign.

Active Learner Completion

The count of all standard (non-primer) questions that have been answered, divided by the count of all standard (non-primer) questions from Learners that have answered at least one question.

Average Participation

All of the average weekly participations for a given campaign, divided by the number of average weekly participations for a campaign.

Average Active Weekly Participation

The average participation across all weeks by Learner and campaign.

Primer Question Performance

The number of pre or post primer questions correctly answered by unretired Learners divided by the total number of pre or post primers. Does not take into consideration primers that weren't answered at all.

Phases

The stage of a Yarno campaign -

• Scheduled: The campaign is set up and ready to go but Learners have not yet been invited
• Warmup: The campaign has sent invites (and primer questions, if applicable) but has not yet commenced serving standard campaign questions
• Active: The campaign is serving new campaign questions each day + any repeats
• Cooldown: The campaign is no longer serving new campaign questions, however Learners are able to access any remaining questions as well as their post primers, if applicable
• Completed: The campaign is now closed and no questions are able to be answered.

What are Question Topics?

Question Topics are a way of grouping questions in Yarno in a way that DOES show up in campaign reporting on dashboards (unlike Question Collections).

Topics are used to show insights around Learner performance for specific subject areas.

Learners, Managers and Admins are able to see Learner performance by topic, allowing them to diagnose areas for improvement.

Topics can be used to filter questions via the 'Campaign Questions' tab.

For content that is written in Trello and ingested into Yarno, Question Topics will be automatically applied.

How to create a new Topic

To create a new Topic:

1. Within the 'Campaign Questions' or 'Primer Questions' tab, click on 'Edit Question' for the relevant question for which you want to create a new Topic.
2. Within the Edit Question page, scroll down to the 'Topics' section at the bottom of the page.
3. Underneath the 'Topics' field, type in the name of the new topic. Click 'Create [Topic]' to add the Topic.
4. Click on 'Update Question' in the top right to save changes.

How to apply or remove topics?

To apply or remove Topics:

1. Within the 'Campaign Questions' or 'Primer Questions' tab, click on 'Edit Question' for the relevant question for which you want to create a new Topic.
2. Within the Edit Question page, scroll down to the 'Topics' section.
3. To apply a Topic, type in the name of the Topic within the 'Topics' field or choose a Topic from the dropdown list.
4. To remove a Topic, click on the cross (X).
5. Click on 'Update Question' to save changes.

What are campaign descriptions, and why add one?

Campaign descriptions are a short summary of the campaign, which is shown to learners when they are invited to participate via either the invitation email or during the campaign invite flow.

Adding a description in the invitation to learners is intended to encourage learner participation, and allows space to:

• Summarise the purpose of the campaign
• Highlight any benefits learners might expect to gain from the campaign, and
• Summarise the key points learners should be looking to takeaway.

How to add a campaign description

Campaign descriptions are added as part of the campaign set up process. There is a field to enter the desired text on the first page of the campaign creation flow, as shown below:

How a campaign description appears in emails

The description entered in the field above is displayed to learners in the email they are sent inviting them to join the campaign. An example demonstrating where this description appears is below (note: the exact wording and design of this email may differ depending on the customisations applied to your account and type of campaign launched).

How a campaign description appears in the campaign invite flow

If learners are using the campaign invite flow to join the campaign, the campaign description will be shown to them twice during the process.

First, the description appears as one of the FAQs when first clicking the invite link:

What happens if a campaign description is not added?

Campaign descriptions are an optional feature - if no text is included when setting up the campaign, the campaign description paragraph will not appear in the email.

There are four user types in Yarno:

1. Learners: Learners can participate in Campaigns and view the Learning Library (if enabled)

How are scores used in Yarno?

Scores are used in Yarno to compare learners or teams on the leaderboard. This provides a fun way for learners or teams to see how they're progressing during a Yarno Campaign, and motivate further participation.

Why don't learner/team scores appear on the Learner Drilldown?

Admin dashboards such as the Learner Drilldown do not include scores because metrics such as performance and participation provide more precise data on learning outcomes, whereas the calculation method for Yarno scores amalgamates these multiple factors into a single motivational datapoint for learners and teams.

What is a Group?

A Group in Yarno is a set of Teams, providing a second level for Manager access and reporting. To learn more about Manager dashboards, check out this article.

Groups can be used to organise linked Teams, for example each store might be a Team, and the region a Group containing all store Teams in that region.

If you are interested in enabling the Groups feature on your account, speak with your Yarno CSM.

How to add Groups in Yarno

Note: Only Yarno Administrators can assign Teams into a Group/s.

• Sign in to Yarno
• Go to the hamburger icon at the top-right side of the screen. Click on Enter Admin.

• Click Learners on top of the menu bar.

• Check you are in the Groups tab.

• Then click the New Group button.

• Enter the Group's name and hit the create Group button

• Enter the Teams that will be part of the Group, and add any Managers, then click Update Group

How to edit Groups in Yarno

• Sign into Yarno. Click on the hamburger icon at the top-right side of the screen. Click on Enter Admin.
• Click on Learners on the top menu bar. Click on the Groups tab.
• From there, you will see the list of all the Groups. Then click the Edit Group tab to make the necessary changes.

• Once the changes have been made, click the Update Group tab located at the bottom left-hand of the screen

The Campaign Copy Feature

The campaign copy feature allows you to add content from a previous campaign into the new one that you are creating. From there you can edit it as you wish by deleting questions, adding new ones, or keeping it exactly as it is. As well as questions, this feature also enables you to copy over learners and campaign settings.

How to copy a campaign

1. Log in to your Yarno account. Once there, click on the icon with three lines at the top right hand corner and select ‘Enter Admin’.

2. You will then see the ‘Create New Campaign’ feature towards the top right hand corner. However, if you select ‘Campaigns’ from the list of tabs at the top of the screen first, you will be able to filter through the pre-existing campaigns in that account. You can then also select ‘New Campaign’ from there.

3. You will then have the option to create either a ‘Burst’ or an ‘Embed’. Irrespective of your choice, you should then see the screen below. A question towards the bottom reads ‘Would you like to copy any content from an existing campaign?’, and if you select ‘Yes please’, then you can access all previous campaigns from the dropdown menu that appears below.

4. Once you have identified and selected the campaign you would like to copy from, a further dropdown menu will appear offering you the ability to copy learners, campaign questions, and campaign settings.

Yarno Admins can access dashboards providing information about all levels of their organisation - all participants in a Campaign, specific Learners, Teams and Groups.

Learner dashboards

Learner dashboards display Learner specific insights on progress within Yarno.  

Information displayed in Learner dashboards include:

To access Learner dashboards within the Admin Portal:

1. Sign into Yarno (Check out the Sign in to Yarno article for more information on this)
2. Use the menu in the top right to "Enter Admin"
3. Go to the "Learners" section
4. Find the relevant Learner
5. Click "View Learner"

Team dashboards

The Team Dashboard within the admin portal displays information about the Team's participation and performance over time.

Information displayed in Team dashboards includes:

What is a Team in Yarno?

The Yarno Teams feature allows you to organise your Learners into Teams based on their location, store or even levels of experience. Teams can then compete with each other for the top position/s on the Teams Leaderboard, based on the average score of Learners in each Team. For more info on Leaderboards, check out this article.

On larger accounts, you can then organise your Teams into Groups for example, all teams based in a particular State.

Each Learner can be part of one or more Teams. No matter the make up of your Learners, organising them into Teams helps you better track their cohort's performance. Teams can be organised and labelled creatively - for example, by:

• geography (e.g Western Region)
• location (e.g. Parramatta store)
• job types (e.g. Distribution Centre Workers)
• job titles (e.g. Retail Managers)
• work teams (e.g. Customer team)
• common interests/themes (e.g. Yodelling Yarnoers)

How to add Teams in Yarno

Here are steps on how to create Teams in Yarno:

• Sign into Yarno then go to the hamburger icon at the top-right side of the screen. Click on Enter Admin.

• Click Learners on top of the menu bar.

• Make sure that you are in the Teams tab.

• Then click the New Team button.

• It will prompt you to a page where you can enter the new Team's name. Once you've entered the necessary information, you may then click the Create Team button.

How to edit Teams in Yarno

Once a Team is created, you now have the ability to update the Team's information as needed.

Here are the steps:

• Sign into Yarno, then click on the hamburger icon at the top-right side of the screen. Click on Enter Admin.
• Click on Learners on the top menu bar. Click on the Teams tab.
• From there, you will see a list of all the Teams. Use the search bar to look for a specific team whose details need to be updated. Then click the Edit Team tab.

You can edit and customise this section as you wish

How to retire a Learner from a Team

• Sign into Yarno then click on the hamburger icon at the top-right side of the screen. Click on Enter Admin.
• Click on Learners on the top menu bar. Click on the Teams tab.

• Choose a specific Team and click on Edit Team

• Tick the box on which team member you would like to remove. Once you've ticked the box, click on Remove from Team.

You can also move team members from one Team to another. Simply tick the box on which team member you would like to move, click on Move Teams, and it click on the drop-down arrow. From there you can choose the Team you would like to move the learner to.

Campaign Collections allow admins to tag individual campaigns make them searchable within the Campaigns tab in Yarno.

How to create or add to an existing Campaign Collection

1. Sign into Yarno, and use the menu in the top right to Enter Admin

3. Select create new campaign
4. Choose between an embed or a burst campaign
5. In the Collections (optional) field, use the dropdown to select from existing Campaign Collections, or enter text to create a new Collection

What is a Yarno Embed campaign?

Embed campaigns are designed to instil and cement knowledge, as well as influence behaviour change over a longer period.

A Yarno Embed campaign can be characterised by having:

• Questions spread out over a number of days, with learners receiving a batch of two to three new questions each day.
• These questions will then be repeated a few days later to help the learner retain the knowledge. This is called spaced repetition.
• As the learner will only receive a few questions at a time, it means these campaigns will go on for longer. Embed campaigns will generally last around two to three weeks once they're underway (this is not including the warmup period).
• Learners will receive a few 'Primer' questions before the campaign starts to gauge how much they know before the campaign starts. They will then receive those same questions after the campaign has finished to gauge how much they have learned from the campaign.

Why use an Yarno Embed campaign:

• Induction and onboarding
• Safety and technical process knowledge

What is a Yarno Burst campaign?

Burst campaigns are best suited in situations where you need to relay important, time-sensitive information over a shorter period of time.

A Yarno Burst campaign can be characterised by the following features:

• The Learner will receive all the questions at once, meaning there are no repeats and no spaced repetition.
• Generally fewer questions than an Embed
• The campaign is set to run for a specific length of time, and Learners can answer the questions at any point within that window.
• There are no Primer questions for a Burst campaign.

Why use a Yarno Burst campaign:

• Pre, during or post induction
• Quick compliance knowledge check-ups
• Critical safety breach information
• Refresher training post or between face-to-face training sessions
• New product and event knowledge

• Login to Yarno and use the menu in the top right to "Enter Admin"

• Select the campaigns tab from the Yarno admin portal, and click on 'NEW CAMPAIGN'.

How to add a Learner to Yarno

Learners are participants who complete Yarno campaigns.

To add a Learner into Yarno:

1. Sign into Yarno
2. Click on the hamburger icon at the top-right side of the screen. Click on Enter Admin.

3. Click Learners on top of the menu bar.

4. Make sure that you are in the Learners' tab.

5. Then click the New Learner button.

6. It will prompt you to a page where you can enter the learner's details: Name, email address, job title, and team. Once you've entered all the necessary information, you may then click the Add New Learner button.

How to bulk upload Learners to Yarno

When new Learners are added to Yarno, there is the option to add them individually or in bulk (by CSV file upload). The bulk upload feature is recommended when there are 10 or more learners to upload into campaign.

• Download our sample CSV by clicking on the Download Sample, and you can copy the data from your spreadsheet into the sample.
• Fill it out with the Learners’ information (e.g. name, email address, job title, team). Make sure to remove the placeholder information that is included in the sample, it is intended as a guide.
• Upload the saved file back to Yarno and all your learners will appear in the list instantly.

How to edit Learners' details:

To edit an existing Learner's details (e.g. change of email address or job title)

1. Sign in to Yarno.
2. Click on the hamburger icon at the top-right side of the screen. Click on Enter Admin.
3. Click on Learners on the top menu bar.
4. From there, you will see a list of all the members. Use the search bar to look for a specific Learner whose details need to be updated. Then click on View Learner.

5. It will prompt you to another page where you can edit the Learner's details. In the screenshot below, the email needs to be updated/changed. Enter the new email address, then click the Update Learner tab. The same process goes when updating the job title and the team list.

Retiring a Learner

To remove a Learner from your Yarno account

1. Sign into Yarno.

2. Click on the hamburger icon on the top right of your screen and select Enter Admin.

3.  Click on Learners located on the top of the screen in the menu bar.

4. Use the search bar to look up the particular learner you're after and once found, click View Learner.

5. Within the dashboard of that particular Learner, click the red button on the top right side of the screen labelled Retire Learner. An additional screen will pop up asking you to confirm this action and ensure everything is finalised.

What are clickable images, and why add them?

Clickable images are images that have a link associated - as the name suggests, the learner can click on the image and this will open the page or website contained in the link. This can be another page in the Learning Library or an external website link.

Using this feature can help enhance the visual presentation of a Learning Library, and can also increase engagement as the information becomes more accessible.

How to add clickable images

Step 1: Find an article in your Learning Library that you would like to add a clickable image to, and select ‘Edit Article’ in the top right hand corner.

Step 2: Once you reach the window where you can edit the article, select ‘Add image’ from the top menu and find the image you would like to include.

Step 3: Once your image has been uploaded, drag the cursor over it so that it’s highlighted. While it’s highlighted, click on the ‘Add Link’ icon on the menu above, then enter the URL of the webpage you would like the learner to see when they click on the image and hit ‘OK’.

Step 5: Now that you have inserted the image and included a link to make it clickable, simply hit ‘Update Article’ to save your changes. When you view the saved article and click on the image, it should now send you to the linked webpage.

How to edit and delete articles

Step 1: Sign into your Yarno account, then click on the hamburger icon on the top right of your screen and select "ENTER ADMIN".

Step 2: Click on the "LEARNING LIBRARY" button on the menu at the top of the screen. Navigate to the article you're after then click on the "EDIT ARTICLE" button on the right side of the article.

Tip! As an Admin you can also access the edit function for articles from the Learning Library itself (without accessing the Admin Portal) - just look out for the "Edit article" button in the top right of each article.

Step 3: Edit the content as you see fit then click the orange "UPDATE ARTICLE" button on the right to save your changes. To delete the entire article, press the "DELETE ARTICLE" button above instead.

While we consider every Yarno campaign as an opportunity for participants to learn, we've created our Learning Library to take those learnings even further.

Yarno's Learning Library allows you to save all of your important information, training and instructional notes in one easily accessible place. Once unlocked, you can create articles filled with copy, tables, imagery and videos as well as link to supporting resources online, like blogs or downloadable pdfs.

Articles can be organised into groups, where, a main article (or "parent" article) can have sub-articles organised beneath them ("children" articles).

You can even leverage the Learning Library as an additional resource for your campaigns by linking question explanations to specific articles. The possibilities are endless!

What are Learning Library Articles

Learning Library articles are a great way to share important knowledge with your learners. These articles sit within the Yarno Learning Library, which you can find out more about on our dedicated page. By investing in creating relevant and engaging articles, you'll ensure that all the information learners will ever need can be found in one, easily accessible location.

How to create new articles

Step 1: Sign into your Yarno account, then click on the hamburger icon on the top right of your screen and select "ENTER ADMIN".

Step 2: Click "LEARNING LIBRARY" on the menu bar located at the top of the screen. (If the "LEARNING LIBRARY" option isn't available in your account, get in touch with your Yarno CSM for additional assistance).

Step 3: Within the Learning Library, click on the orange button on the far right labelled "NEW ARTICLE".

Step 4: You'll be taken to the new article page where you can write and format the copy in the article to your liking, as well as add images, videos, tables or even hyperlink to other online resources.

Step 5: To set your article live, check the "PUBLISHED" box and then "SAVE ARTICLE".

Article tips

• You can also organise articles into subcategories and add relevant topic tags. The "PARENT ARTICLE" select box allows you to choose a parent for the article, so the article will then sit underneath that parent in the library.
• The "SHOW CHILDREN" check box allows you to insert a table of contents at the bottom of the article that links to all the children articles of the article you're editing.
• Don't forget to add a topic to you article which will ensure that you'll be able to find it in future. You can find out more about adding topics to articles via our dedicated page.

How to access Campaign dashboards

To access Campaign dashboards within the admin portal:

Campaign dashboard components

The Campaign dashboard has three sections, which can be accessed by using the buttons at the top right of the dashboard.

Overview

The Overview section provides a snapshot of the Campaign progress, such as number of active learners, completion and performance. Precise metrics displayed differ depending on whether the relevant Campaign was an embed or burst campaign.

Question drilldown

The Question Drilldown provides detailed insights on learner performance for each Question on the Campaign.

Learner drilldown

The Learner Drilldown displays insights on learner participation and performance on the Campaign. The drilldown list can be filtered by selecting the tiles at the top of the page, and can be toggled to show the opposite selection (for example learners participating, and learners not participating).

In the top left of the screen there is an option to download a Learner Drilldown report, which allows sharing of the results outside of Yarno Admins.

What are topic tags

Topic tags are searchable keywords that you can attach to your Learning Library articles.

When creating a new article, we recommend attaching topic tags to each one in order to make sure they can be easily accessible in future. These topic tag can be typed into the Learning Library search bar to assist in recovering articles attached to these topic tags.

You can attach multiple topic tags to articles according to cross-category relevance.

Adding topic tags to articles

Step 1: Before publishing your Learning Library Article, type in a relevant topic tag under "TOPICS" then press enter. The topic will then be created but can be removed by clicking the "X" in the text bar.

Step 2: Click "UPDATE ARTICLE" to confirm your changes.

What is Manager Access?

If you're organising Learners into Teams, you can provide Manager access to one or multiple team leads so they can monitor their Team's overall progress through the campaign lifecycle.

Teams can also be linked into Groups, and a Group Manager can be assigned who will be able to monitor the Group's overall progress. For more on the dashboards Managers have access to, check out this article.

Managers won't have Admin access to the account, which provides visibility of all Learners, Teams and Groups and the ability to create Questions and Campaigns. For information on how to add additional Admins, check out this article.

How Admins can assign Team Manager access

• Sign in to your Yarno account. Then, click on the hamburger icon on the top right of your screen and select Enter Admin.

• Click on Learners tab at the top of the menu bar.

• Select the Teams tab. Select Edit Team beside the team you'd like to add a manager to.

• Click the Make Manager button beside the learner you'd like to give manager access to. To remove manager privileges, press Make Learner instead.

How Admins can assign Group Manager access

• Sign in to your Yarno account. Then, click on the hamburger icon on the top right of your screen and select Enter Admin.

• Click on Learners tab at the top of the menu bar.

• Select the Groups tab. Select Edit Group beside the Group you'd like to add a Manager to.

• Under the Managers section, search for the learner you would like to make a Group Manager and click, Add as Manager. To remove manager privileges, select Remove as Manager.

What are question comments, and where do they appear?

A question comment is a short drafting note left on a Yarno question. Comments can be left on both campaign and primer questions, and both published and draft questions.

Comments appear on the right hand side of the Edit Question screen, in a side window that can be opened or closed:

Comments are intended to help with the drafting of questions, and are not visible to Learners completing the question as part of a Yarno campaign.

How can I post a comment and tag an admin or Yarnoer?

1. Navigate to the relevant question you want to comment on, and open the edit question page
2. Open the comments window, using the button on the right hand side of the screen (as shown above). Previous comments will be viewable in the window, in chronological order from top to bottom
3. To add a comment, type into the box at the bottom of the comments list, and then click the green paper plane icon to send
4. To tag another admin or a Yarnoer, type "@" in the comment box, and a short list of people to tag will appear. If the relevant person's name doesn't appear, start typing the start of their name, and the list will update - once you see the right person, select their name from the list

Please note that comments cannot currently be edited or deleted once posted.

How do notifications work?

Comments trigger a notification to be sent to an admin where:

• Another admin or a Yarnoer has tagged them in a comment, or
• A new comment is left on a question where the admin has previously commented

Notifications are sent in-app, as well as by email (where email notifications have not been disabled).

In-app notifications are viewable via the bell in the top right of the admin portal. The bell is grey when there are no new notifications, and green when there are unread notifications:

Clicking the bell opens a notifications window, with a list of recent notifications in chronological order. The "view all notifications" button at the bottom navigates to a full list of notifications received. Admins can click a comment notification to navigate directly to the relevant question where a new comment has been posted.

How can I disable email notifications for comments?

If you no longer wish to receive email notifications for new comments left on questions in your Yarno account, you can follow the following steps to disable them:

1. Sign into Yarno, and enter the admin portal (use the menu in the top right to "Enter Admin")
2. Select "Profile" from the menu in the top right
3. Move to the "Notification preferences" tab

4. Under the 'Comment notifications' heading, select "None", and then click "Update notification preferences"

Please note that in-app notifications will not be impacted by disabling email notifications for comments.

How to edit questions in Yarno

To edit Yarno questions, first go to the 'Questions' page in the top menu bar.

Then, click into the specific question by choosing 'Edit Question'.

Editing question text

Within the Edit Question page, the question text will be on the top left.

Below the question text are the fields that can be used to add or edit an image or video banner on the question.

On the right hand side of the page is a preview image of what the finished product will look like in Yarno.

To edit question text, simply type directly into the text field.

Note: Question text cannot be bolded or italicised.

Ensure you click 'Update Question' in the top right to save any changes.

Editing answer choices

Within the Edit Question page, the 'Answers' section is below the question text and question media.

On the left hand side of the page are the fields that can be used to edit answer choices (both correct and incorrect answers).

On the right hand side of the page is a preview image of what the finished product will look like in Yarno.

To edit answer choices, type directly into the text fields. Ensure that the correct answer is included in the marked space.

Notes:

• Answer choice text cannot be bolded or italicised.
• Incorrect answer spaces left blank will not be shown in the final question presented to learners.

Ensure you click 'Update Question' to save any changes.

Editing explanation text

Within the Edit Question page, the 'Explanation' section is below the answers.

On the left hand side of the page are the fields for editing explanation text and resource links.

On the right hand side of the page is a preview image of what the finished product will look like in Yarno.

To edit explanation text, type directly into the text field. Use the tool bar to add formatting and links/images/videos.

To add additional resources, use the 'Resource links' fields beneath the main text field.

Ensure you click 'Update Question' to save any changes.

Topics and Collections

Within the Edit Question page, the 'Topics' and 'Collections' sections are at the bottom of the page.

On the left hand side of the page are the fields where you can update Topics and Collections for each question.

What is the Leaderboard?

Once you have accessed the Yarno Dashboard (use this guide for more information), you will then have access to the Leaderboard.

The Leaderboard illustrates how learners have performed in any given campaign compared to their peers. It ranks campaign participants by their scores, and teams by their average score.

It includes data such as:

• Learner ranks
• How ranks have changed (have they gone up or down?)
• Learner scores (points received from correct answers selected and regular participation)
• Learner performance (what proportion of the questions answered were answered correctly).

NOTE: While it's always nice to come out on top, it's important to remember that getting a low score is totally fine! If you have identified knowledge gaps, that's a win.

Benefits of using the Leaderboard

Benefits of using the Leaderboard include:

• Boost competition: Learners will naturally try to climb the rankings to reach a higher score than their peers. This will require increased engagement and concentrated focus, meaning the learner is more likely to process the knowledge.
• Chart a Learner's progress: Learners can see how they have improved after each batch of questions, as well as how they have faired from campaign to campaign.
• Gauge which teams are stronger on certain subjects: As the Leaderboard results can be filtered by team, admins can get clarity on which teams are stronger on a given subject and which teams may need further support moving forward.

How does scoring work?

A learner's score is calculated based on two key factors: correct answers and regular participation.

Correct answers:

• If the learner answers the question correctly on the first try, then they receive maximum points for that question. Yarno will then repeat the same question to the learner in a few days, but will reward fewer points to them if they get it right on the second try.
• Like the image below illustrates, the more tries the Learner has, the fewer points are made available to them for a correct answer.

Regular participation:

• Whilst not as significant as answering correctly, Yarno also rewards learners who answer promptly and regularly. This is designed to encourage and incentivise regular participation, which increases the accuracy of our metrics.

What are badges?

Learners are awarded badges when they hit targets on a Yarno campaign, including:

• Streak badges awarded when learners have answered questions correctly back-to-back
• Rocketeer badge awarded when the campaign duration and learner performance reach 80%.

Badges are a fun way Yarno helps encourage learners to perform at their best, and add to the gamification features motivating learners to complete Yarno campaigns.

What is an admin in Yarno?

Admins - as the name suggests - have administrative privileges on their particular Yarno account. Admins have the ability to add learners, create questions, set up campaigns and review campaign data as a whole.

Admins in Yarno have a higher access level than Team or Group Managers. Managers are able to see specific results and insights for the Yarno team they are managing (whether this be a particular store, a depot, or even an entire state), but cannot make changes to the campaigns, questions or learners. What is the difference between full access and content access Admins?

When creating an Admin in Yarno, there are two options for the access level the new Admin will be granted:

• 'Full access': this includes access to everything in the admin portal, including Insights, Learners, Campaigns, Questions and the ability to create new admins
• 'Content access': Content access restricts administrators to content sections of the admin portal, including Questions and the Learning Library (where enabled). Content access admins are not able to view learner data, or set up new campaigns for launch

How to add additional Admins to a Yarno account

1. Log in to your Yarno account. Once there, click on the icon with three lines at the top right hand corner and select ‘Enter Admin’.

2. Click on the icon with three lines again but this time select ‘Account Settings. From there you’ll have the option to create a 'New administrator':

3. You will then see a pop-up window. Once you have entered the details of the individual you would like to make an Admin, chosen their access level and you click ‘Add administrator’, they will receive an invite to join Yarno (if they weren't already a learner).

How to remove Admin privileges

1. Log in to your Yarno account. Once there, click on the icon with three lines at the top right hand corner and select ‘Enter Admin’.
2. Click on the icon with three lines again but this time select ‘Account Settings.
3. Find the Admin you would like to remove privileges from in the list, and click "Edit" in their row.

4. This will open a pop-up window, which includes two options for removing Admin privileges:

(a) Downgrade the Admin to Learner privileges using the dropdown menu on the left: changing access level to Learner access will remove administrative privileges and access to the admin portal, but continue to allow participation in campaigns (and any Manager access will remain)

(b) Use the link on the right to completely retire the Admin (useful if the Admin has left the business). Admins will immediately lose access once this link is used.

Please note: one Admin on each customer account has the 'Account Owner' role. The Account Owner has the same privileges as a Full Access Admin, but cannot be removed from the Yarno account following the above steps. If you would like to change or remove an Account Owner, reach out to your Yarno CSM.

How to access the Insights page

To access the Insights page within the admin portal:

1. Sign into Yarno and use the menu in the top right to "Enter Admin"
2. Select “Insights” from the top menu bar

The components of the Insights page

The Insights page has two sections, which can be accessed by using the buttons at the top left of the page.

Engagement

The Engagement section includes data relevant to learner engagement with the platform and specific campaigns run.

This includes:

• Total campaigns run (and a breakdown of embeds vs bursts)
• Active learners
• Participation rate
• Completion rate

Performance & Knowledge

The Performance & Knowledge section presents data on how learners have performed across campaigns run, and information on the knowledge growth learners have seen by using Yarno.

This includes:

• Performance (the percentage of questions answered correctly by learners)
• Question uplift (the uplift in performance from the first attempt at a question to the second attempt on embed campaigns)
• Primer uplift (the uplift in performance from pre-campaign primer questions to post-campaign primer questions on embed campaigns)

How to filter the Insights page

At the top of each section of the Insights page there is a filter bar, which allows the filters to be changed to show a different date range or cohort. As a default, the Insights page displays 90 days of data for all learners on the account.

To change the date range:

1. Click on the date shown
2. Move through the calendar months using the arrows and select the relevant date
3. OR highlight the date displayed and type the relevant date directly into the date bar

To filter to one or more teams or groups:

1. Click on the box under the heading “Teams” or “Team groups”
2. Either select a team/group from the dropdown menu or type the name of a team/group and press enter
3. To add a second team or group, click next to the team/group already added, and repeat step 2

Why does Yarno send Admins email notifications for campaigns?

Yarno Admins get notifications about key campaign events on their account. These can include when campaigns launch, when campaigns are coming up to the completion date, and updates about campaign performance while campaigns are active.

These notifications are intended to keep Admins up-to-date about what is happening in their account, and provide reminders to check-in on key campaign events.

How to navigate to the notification preferences page

By default, Admins are notified about all campaigns run on their account. In some cases though, Admins may find that they are receiving notifications that are not relevant to them - for example, if your account has multiple Admins who run campaigns for different parts of the business.

If this is the case, you can change your notification preferences by following these steps:

1. Sign into Yarno, and use the 'Enter Admin' menu option to enter the Admin Portal
2. Click on 'Profile' in the top right menu

3. Move to the 'Notification preferences' tab

Notification preferences options

On the notification preferences page, you can select the campaigns you would like to be notified about:

• If you would like to receive notifications for all campaigns that run on your account, select "All campaigns (default)"
• If you would like to disable admin campaign notifications, select "None"
• You can also choose to receive notifications only for campaigns that include learners from specific teams or groups in Yarno. To choose this option, select "Only campaigns with learners from the following teams or groups", and then select the teams or groups you would like to be notified about.

Note: these notification preferences only apply to campaign notifications for Admins, as described above. If the Admin is also a Manager, or participates in campaigns as a Learner, they will continue to receive any email notifications relevant to that role. The four parts of a campaign goal statement

A clearly defined campaign goal statement is the starting point of any successful Yarno campaign.

The aim of the campaign goal statement is to identify a set of relevant campaign aims that can provide structure and focus throughout the content creation process.

We can think about Yarno goal statements in four parts:

1. Desired end result

• This should be a measurable business outcome
• An easy formula to follow is: [business metric] will increase/decrease X% by [date]
• It's ok if there are multiple factors impacting this business outcome — even though the campaign may only target one of these factors, having a clear idea of the desired end result provides focus and a way of assessing the campaign ROI

Ask yourself: what’s a tangible metric for assessing the success of this campaign?

Example: Core product sales will increase 15% by the end of Q3

2. Target behaviours

• These should be the behaviours that are needed in order to achieve the desired end result
• Focus on action — what learners need to do, not what they need to know

Ask yourself: what are learners doing wrong right now, and what should they start doing?

Example: Learners (salespeople) should highlight the features and benefits of core products in their customer conversations; Learners (salespeople) should use up-selling and cross-selling techniques in their customer conversations

3. Knowledge, skills and understanding

• This is the knowledge, skills and understanding that learners need in order to overcome existing barriers and adopt the target behaviours
• It's best to target a few specific areas of knowledge that will have a direct impact on the target behaviours — avoid knowledge for knowledge's sake as this isn't the most effective use of learners' time and energy

Ask yourself: what do learners need to know or understand? What skills do they need to develop?

Example: Learners (salespeople) need to know the primary features and benefits of our core products; Learners (salespeople) need to develop up-selling and cross-selling skills

4. Specific learning objectives

• These are targeted, specific objectives that represent a successful learning experience
• Good learning objectives start with verbs
• Consider how the learning objectives reflect the level of understanding learners will need — using Bloom's Taxonomy can help you identify how complex your objective should be

Use the structure: “At the end of this campaign, learners will be able to:” followed by a list of outcomes.

Example: At the end of this campaign, learners will be able to: list 5 key features for each product in our core range; Explain the benefits of each of those features as part of a customer conversation; Use at least one up-selling or cross-selling technique in each customer conversation; Analyse customer needs and direct them to a relevant core product

Do I need to complete a goal statement in this order?

You don't need to complete your campaign goal statement in this order.

You might find you have a clear idea of the behaviours you want to target, but you haven’t identified your desired end result yet. Maybe you’ve thought about what knowledge and skills you want to communicate, but you haven’t thought about the behaviours that will be impacted.

No matter where you start, taking the time to consider each part of the goal statement is the best way to set your campaign up for success.

Creating a new campaign

1. Sign into Yarno, and use the menu in the top right to Enter Admin
2. Go to the Campaigns section
3. Click the New Campaign tab

4. Choose between an embed or a burst campaign

Adding a title to your Yarno campaign

1. Enter a relevant title for your campaign
2. Add a campaign description, for more information on campaign descriptions check out this article
3. Select or create a campaign collection, for more information on campaign collections, check out this article.

Adding learners to your campaign

1. Select the relevant learners to be included for the campaign by clicking the checkbox
2. Click Add to campaign tab

You can filter learners by searching for their name or filtering by:

• Team
• Group
• Name (A-Z)
• Email (A-Z)
• Job title (A-Z)

Adding questions to your campaign

1. Select the relevant questions to be included for the campaign by clicking the checkbox
2. Once your questions are selected, click Add to campaign

You can filter questions by searching for each individually or filtering by:

• Topic
• Question collection
• Alphabetical
• Newest to oldest

Adding primer questions to your campaign (optional)

Primer questions are optional questions which can be included in embed campaigns. Primer questions will be served at the start and end of embed campaigns to benchmark learner improvement during the campaign. Primer questions will feature no explanations and learners will not be told if they answer correctly or incorrectly.

To add primer questions, simply follow the same steps as for adding campaign questions in the Adding Questions step.

Adding a confidence survey to your campaign (optional)

Confidence survey questions are an additional way to measure the effectiveness of a campaign, and to judge the necessity of future learning on a campaign’s key topic areas. They ask learners to rate themselves on their confidence on key campaign learning objectives before and after the campaign.

Selecting campaign settings

Campaign settings allow admins to select the dates the campaign will run, the time Yarno notifications will go out via email and how the leaderboard is displayed to learners. The settings page varies slightly between embed and burst campaigns.

Embed campaigns:

1. Select the Campaign start date tab
2. Choose the approximate number of new questions a day
3. Select the number of cooldown days (weekdays only)
4. Choose the time of day learners will receive notifications via email
5. Select the Leaderboard display preference option

Burst campaigns:

1. Select the Campaign start date and Campaign expiry date
2. Choose the time of day learners will receive notifications via email
3. Select the Leaderboard display preference

Launching a campaign

When you are ready to launch your campaign, click on the launch campaign option. If the campaign is scheduled to start immediately, invites will go out to learners right away. If the campaign is in the future, the invites will not go out until the start of the Warmup period for embed campaigns and the Campaign start date for burst campaigns.

What are the Manager dashboards?

Manager dashboards display information about a Team or Group's participation and performance over time, including the campaigns members of the team have participated in and overall topic performance for the team.

Team Managers have access to overview and Campaign dashboards for their Team/s, and Group Managers have access to overview and Campaign dashboards for their Group/s, and for all the Teams that are included in their Group.

Understanding Team or Group overview dashboards

The Team or Group Overview will give you an overview of how your Team or Group is performing on Yarno.

The overview dashboard includes insights on:

1. Current campaigns - campaigns that members of your Team or Group are taking part in that are currently active
2. Past campaigns - all campaigns your Team or Group has ever participated in
3. Learner Performance - which Learners are demonstrating mastery versus those that might have knowledge gaps
4. Learner Engagement - which Learners have jumped in and had a go at more/less questions
5. Performance by Topic - which Topics your Team or Group has performed stronger and weaker in.

Understanding Team or Group Campaign dashboards

Campaign dashboards display Learner and performance information specific to a particular Campaign.

A Campaign dashboard has three sections, which can be accessed by using the buttons at the top right of the dashboard. The Question drilldown will not appear in some situations, see the later section for more info.

Overview

The Overview section provides a snapshot of the Campaign progress, such as number of active learners, completion and performance. Precise metrics displayed differ depending on whether the relevant Campaign was an embed or burst campaign.

Learner drilldown

The Learner Drilldown displays insights on learner participation and performance on the Campaign. The drilldown list can be filtered by selecting the tiles at the top of the page, and can be toggled to show the opposite selection (for example learners participating, and learners not participating).

In the top left of the screen there is an option to download a Learner Drilldown report, which allows sharing of the results outside of the app.

Question drilldown

The Question Drilldown provides detailed insights on learner performance for each Question on the Campaign. As Managers often participate in Campaigns, and the Question Drilldown displays the answers, this section is not available to most Managers if they are included in that Campaign and have not completed the questions - see below for more information.

When can Managers access the Question Drilldown?

When viewing the Campaign dashboards, Managers won't always see the Question Drilldown section - this is to preserve fairness, in case the Manager is participating in the Campaign.

The Question Drilldown will be accessible:

• For all Past Campaigns
• For any Current Campaigns, where the Manager is not participating in the Campaign
• For any Current Campaign that the Manager is participating in, where the Manager has completed all the Campaign's Questions

What is a confidence survey, and why add one to a campaign?

Confidence surveys are an additional way to measure the effectiveness of a campaign, and to judge the necessity of future learning on a campaign’s key topic areas.

They work as follows:

• Confidence surveys are made up of a set of statements, each of which the learner is asked to rate on a scale of 1-5 in response to a prompt: “As of today, I am confident that I can [___]”
• Admins define the topics learners are asked to rate their confidence on (as described further below)
• Adding a confidence survey to a campaign is optional for admins
• If a campaign has a confidence survey, learners are required to complete it
• Learners are asked to complete the survey before and after the campaign
• Confidence surveys can be added to both burst and embed campaigns

How to add a confidence survey

Adding a confidence survey is an option presented during the campaign creation flow:

This page displays a summary of topics included on the campaign, as well as a form for creating the confidence survey itself:

Each confidence survey statement is created by adding a learning objective to the text box following the first half of the statement, "As of today, I am confident that I can”. Where relevant, admins should also add any ‘related topics’ in the box underneath. These will be used to display data after the campaign, as explained further below.

To add an additional statement, click the ‘Add statement’ button below. To remove a statement, click the ‘Remove statement button’ on the right of each statement.

Please note: If you do not wish to add a confidence survey, skip past this page by clicking the “Save and next” button in the bottom right corner without entering any text to continue creating the campaign.

How to write a good confidence survey statement

Confidence survey statements should reflect the learning objectives of your campaign. These should be targeted, specific objectives that represent a successful learning experience.

Good learning objectives start with verbs, and reflect the level of understanding learners need in their roles. Some examples of good learning objectives include:

• List 5 key features for each product in our core range
• Explain the key benefits of products in our core range as part of a customer conversation
• Use at least one up-selling or cross-selling technique in each customer conversation
• Analyse customer needs and direct them to a relevant core product

Where can I see the results of a confidence survey, and what do they mean?

The results of a confidence survey are displayed in a chart on the Campaign Dashboard:

This chart compares 3 statistics for each learning objective:

• The average confidence rating selected by learners before the campaign (the left bar, coloured green)
• The average confidence rating selected by learners after the campaign (the right bar, coloured purple)
• The average performance on the related topic/s selected during the creation of the confidence survey (the dot in the centre of the two bars, coloured orange)

The rating scale for the two confidence rating datapoints is shown on the left of the chart, while on the right of the chart you can see the topic performance scale.

What are the Manager dashboards?

Manager dashboards display information about a Team or Group's participation and performance over time, including the campaigns members of the team have participated in and overall topic performance for the team.

Team Managers have access to overview and Campaign dashboards for their Team/s, and Group Managers have access to overview and Campaign dashboards for their Group/s, and for all the Teams that are included in their Group.

How to access Manager overview dashboards

To access the Manager overview dashboard/s:

1. Sign in to Yarno
2. Click the menu in the top right, and select "Team Overview"

You will now see the Team or Group Overview dashboard - if you are a Manager of only one Team, this will be displayed. Otherwise, one Team or Group will display, and you will need to switch to see other Team or Group dashboards.

How to switch to a different Team or Group

If you are a Group Manager, or a Team Manager for multiple Teams, you will need to switch Teams to see the different Dashboards. To do so:

1. From any Team Overview dashboard (see above for instructions on how to access), select "View other teams" in the top left

2. You will see a list of the Teams and Groups you are a Manager of, and can select the dashboard you would like to access

How to access Campaign dashboards for a Team or Group

Campaign dashboards display Learner and performance information specific to a particular Campaign.

To access Campaign dashboards for a Team or Group:

1. Access the relevant Team or Group's overview dashboard (see above for instructions)
2. Locate the relevant Campaign, either from the "Current Campaigns" or "Past Campaigns" list
3. Select "View" next to the Campaign, and this will open the Campaign dashboard

How to access Campaign dashboards

To access Campaign dashboards within the Admin portal:

1. Sign into Yarno
2. Go to the Campaigns section
3. Find the relevant campaign in the list, or by using the search, sort and filter options
4. Select the campaign and then click View Dashboard from the action options

Tracking campaign performance

Yarno's campaign dashboards enable Admins to track performance during and post campaign. The campaign dashboard includes:

• Performance: Percentage of questions answered correctly
• Primer question performance (embed only, optional): comparison of performance for pre and post primer questions
• Individual and team leaderboard
• Performance by topic
• Performance over time
• Answer accuracy (embed only): comparison of performance between learners 1st and second attempts at a question
• Confidence survey (optional): results of any pre and post confidence survey included on the campaign

Monitoring Learner engagement

The Learner Drilldown displays insights on learner participation and performance on the campaign. The drilldown list can be filtered by selecting the tiles at the top of the page, and can be toggled to show the opposite selection (for example learners participating, and learners not participating).

In the top left of the screen there is an option to download a Learner Drilldown report, which allows sharing of the results outside of Yarno admins.

What is the purpose of campaign feedback in Yarno?

Yarno is not just a ‘tick the box’ learning platform — it is designed to instil and cement knowledge in learners, influencing behaviour change over time and creating real business results for our customers.

Campaign feedback is targeted at collecting helpful, practical insights into how Yarno campaigns and the Yarno platform are working from the learner’s perspective. These insights can be used to guide future training plans, and are regularly reviewed by the Yarno team to inform new features for the Yarno product.

When is campaign feedback gathered?

Campaign feedback is gathered via a 3 question survey to learners that asks:

1. How would you rate your overall experience of this campaign? (1-5)
2. What have we done well? What can we improve? (free text)
3. What would you like to see in the future? (free text)

Learners are prompted to complete this survey in-app and via email on completion of a campaign:

• If a learner completes all the questions in a campaign, they will be taken immediately to the campaign feedback survey in-app
• If a learner does not complete the campaign or skips the feedback survey, they will receive an email asking them to complete the survey once the campaign is over

How do I view campaign feedback?

Campaign feedback is summarised in Yarno post-campaign reports (PCRs), provided by your CSM at agreed intervals or on request. PCRs include:

• Learner responses to the first question, averaged to provide an average rating for the campaign (out of 5)
• Key comments and insights extracted from free text responses.

Some accounts (part of a feature test group) will also see campaign feedback in-app, as a tab in the campaign dashboard. This tab appears after the campaign is completed, and includes the campaign’s average rating and the full list of free text responses.

Why does campaign feedback look different on older campaigns?

We made changes to how campaign feedback in Yarno looks in early 2024, which have applied to campaigns starting after the date the changes were implemented.

On older campaigns started prior to the changes:

• Learners gave a response out of 10 to the question, “How likely are you to recommend this campaign to a colleague”
• Responses were summarised into a Net Promoter Score (NPS), which ranged from -100 to +100
• There was a single free text field for learners to provide additional comments

How to sign in to Yarno

Regardless of whether you're a Learner, Manager or Administrator wanting to sign in to Yarno, signing in requires the same steps.

• Go to https://learn.yarno.com.au
• At the sign in page, enter the email address that is associated with your Yarno profile and press the 'Continue' button

• Then enter your password and press the 'Continue' button

Your email address is what Yarno uses to associate your profile with you.  

The email address associated with your profile is set up by your Yarno Administrator (that is, the person within your company who administers Yarno).

Everyone who is a part of Yarno (including Learners, Managers and Administrators) has a unique Yarno profile associated with their email address.

Unsure or forgotten what email address is associated with your Yarno profile?

• Check all email inboxes (including work and personal emails) Yarno sends an email prior to a campaign starting. The email address this is sent to will be your sign in email for Yarno.
• Check with your Yarno Administrator: Get in contact with the person who has set up Yarno within your company to ask what email address you've been set up with in Yarno

If you haven't received an email invitation to join Yarno, it's likely you haven't been invited to Yarno.
