Advance Care Planning Australia is an Australian Government initiative, dedicated to improving education and awareness about planning for future health care. Their goal is to support health and aged care professionals and the broader community, have meaningful conversations about the benefits of advance care planning.

Voluntary learning

Advance Care Planning Australia offers training and education for up to 60,000 health and aged care professionals across the country. As the learning is voluntary, they needed an innovative and engaging solution to deliver the content and allow them to gather learner feedback on the training material.

Distributed workers

The health and aged care workforce are highly mobile and work Australia-wide and are not direct employees of Advance Care Planning Australia, making it challenging to get everyone together for training. They needed a solution that was easily accessible from anywhere.

Time-poor learners

Health and aged care professionals juggle many tasks and have different schedules – some are mobile, some work shifts, and some are in the office 9-5, making it hard to take time out to attend in-person training days. They need to fit their learning in around how they work and they need it to be quick.

How Yarno addressed these challenges

Yarno partnered with Advance Care Planning Australia to deliver a flexible, engaging learning solution tailored to the needs of busy health and aged care staff. To accommodate demanding schedules, Yarno created bite-sized, just-in-time learning bursts accessible anytime, at anytime, making it easy for staff to participate. The training was delivered through six targeted campaigns over 12 months, helping to avoid information overload and reinforce key topics over time. Scenario-based questions were used to enhance engagement and ensure relevance by allowing learners to apply knowledge to real-life situations. Ongoing feedback and confidence surveys enabled continuous improvement, ensuring the content remained impactful and relevant. This approach resulted in an impressive learner rating of 4.66 out of 5 across all campaigns and enabled Advance Care Planning Australia to maintain learner engagement, reinforce critical messages, and create a lasting impact.
